I’ve been working in WordPress for a number of clients, and for myself as well. I hope to have a new art site up soon that will showcase my small, colorful oil and pastel paintings.
In the meantime, I’ve been working on a new site for the Little Compton Garden Club. It’s been both fun and challenging. I’m learning lots of new stuff, and exploring the world of WordPress plug-ins! There are plug-ins to do just about anything you would want a web site to do. I just found TablePress, which is a great, free plug-in that makes it super easy to add tables to a page or a post.
Finally, after a couple of years of procrastination, and many web sites put together for clients, Good Graphic Design has a new site! I used WordPress, an open-source blogging and cms application to create it.
I want to thank Chris Coyier for his course, WordPress 3: Creating and Editing Custom Themes on lynda.com, for showing the way to create a custom child theme and unleash the wonderfulness that is WordPress. You can’t beat the courses found at lynda.com to help you learn just about any software. And Chris was kind enough to respond to when I had questions about making it all work.
Hope you think the site is an improvement! A new site showcasing my artwork is in the works as well. MarySextonPaintings.com will hopefully not take more than a few weeks to be up and running with all new work.
Here is a colorful card announcing the South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour dates for 2014. The card is also a “Thank You” to the sponsors of the 2013 Tour. It was quite a challenge fitting 65 sponsor logos into a 6 x 9 card!
