Saw the doctor for fibromyalgia and am trying a gluten-free diet for 2 months. Hopefully symptoms will improve. If not, then I will try a dairy-free diet…yikes! No cheese would be a hardship for sure.
Here are some recent works. “Danielle” is from a couple of Tuesday ago, and “Molly” was today’s effort. “Ranch Road was a pastel from the weekend. Not quite daily painting, but moving in that direction!
Had the flu for the first time in 20 years–hoping not to have it again for another 20!
Flu wasn’t too bad but the lingering cough and fatigue have been hard to deal with.
Getting back into the swing of things though. Here is a portrait from an old photo from WAG’s figure group, and a painting from portrait class. I forgot a canvas panel so painted on cardboard. Very freeing! And finally, a couple of pastels.
I want to make a 4 x 6 foot oil painting of “America’s Mountain”, so I started with the 5 x 7 Painting a Day image in both oil and pastel. I’ve painted it again as a 9 x 12 pastel. I’m thinking about doing a larger oil, maybe 9 x 12 or maybe 12 x 16, just to see how it goes.
“Down the Mountain”, 5 x 7 pastel, forgot to time
Little more detail than the oil version
Will be working on a portrait in oils for the next couple of days, then back to the painting a day with some new images.
“Red Car”, 5 x 7 pastel, 35 minutes
Need more practice drawing cars for sure!
“America’s Mountain”, 5 x 7 pastel, 25 minutes
Trying for a sense of atmosphere and distance. Snow scene tomorrow!
“Long Cool Pines”, 5 x 7 pastel, 25 minutes
A little more confidence today!
And I start a portrait painting class in oils this evening. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Day 6 starting over with pastels
“Roadside Shack”, 5 x 7 pastel, 30 minutes
Feels a little different working in pastels! Next one tomorrow.
